Frequently Asked Questions

What are the servicing arrangements?

If you got your Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle through the Motability Scheme, the servicing will be done by your local accredited Motability Manufacturer Dealer. If you bought your vehicle outright, then the choice is yours as to where it is serviced.

Can I have a free demonstration?

Of course! In fact, we wouldn't sell you one of our wheelchair accessible vehicles without one. We insist that every potential customer tries their car before they buy - one of our trained demonstrators will bring the vehicle you're considering to your home or office for you to try for yourself. Wherever you are, distance is no problem - we demonstrate to all mainland locations in the United Kingdom. Why not give us a call to arrange a free demonstration today? Can I get more seats or optional extras fitted?

Yes. There is the option with most of our conversions to have additional passenger seats fitted - why don't you contact our experts to discuss the options available? [Link to 5.1 Contact Us Form]. The list of other optional extras is extensive and so they are listed in our brochures. View our range of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles

What is the advantage of lowering the floor?

Lowering the floor enables the wheelchair user to enjoy a better view through the front windscreen and side windows. It also reduces the angle of the ramp, which means that a winch is rarely required.

What happens if I have a warranty claim? Are both the vehicle and the conversion covered under warranty?

Constables' conversions are covered by a separate warranty. Should you need to make a warranty claim against the base vehicle itself, this would be covered under the vehicle manufacturer's warranty as normal.

Which safety standards do converted vehicles have to conform to?

Incredibly, there are none! However you should always look for a converter that is accredited with Motability and the Vehicle Certification Agency with Low Volume type Approval (LVTA) on at least some of their vehicles. Ensure they have the ISO 9001:2008 quality accreditation.

Is it possible to buy used vehicles that have been converted?

Yes. View our range of nearly new Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles

Will the car fit in my garage?

That depends upon the vehicle you choose and the size of your garage. All Constables' wheelchair accessible vehicles are converted from regular cars, and so we would expect them to fit most standard sized garages. However, the dimensions for each car are given in our brochures which can be downloaded from this site. View our range of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles

The brochures for each of our conversions include the measurements for each model, both inside and out, and can be downloaded from this site. View our range of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles
